At school when we were 16!

Raj proposed when were away in Budapest celebrating our 10 year anniversary. We stayed in a fancy hotel on the last night and Raj had successfully hidden the ring from me the whole week we had already been there. When we arrived Raj began looking frantically though the suitcase as if looking for something he had lost, to my confusion, and would not tell me what had happened. We figured out that whatever it was must have dropped out in the foyer when we got something out the suitcase at check in. Raj rushed down there to see an expectant concierge waiting to give him the ring. Raj came up to the room and proposed right there and then!

Looking for a venue was first on our list!

We wanted somewhere not too far away from home and big enough to have all our close family and friends be there

We found the venue online and from the initial viewing we knew it was our venue. The staff who greeted us were so welcoming and friendly as well as being knowledgeable and answering every question we had with ease

The food! Everyone could not stop talking about how good it all was

We didn’t have to do much to the beautiful interiors of the barn and used colorful flowers that went really well with the brick barn interior and mirrored the colorful flowers already outside

All of it!

My wedding dress was not something I thought I would go for but knew it was the one when I tried it on. Raj wore a Sherwani for the ceremony and then had an outfit change to a suit and shaved off his beard before the wedding breakfast!

The ceremony was very personal as my brother was the celebrant, I think it took off a lot of pressure and it was so nice having family up there with us

The drinks reception was thankfully lovely and sunny so we got to use the courtyard area At the wedding breakfast we used long banquet tables, specially arranged for the amount of guests we had, and we absolutely loved this set up

We chose Childish Gambino - Me and Your Mama as this is a song we both love and agreed to use it for our first dance years ago. We did not actually practice our first dance beforehand which we probably should have done but it all worked out in the end!

Enjoy the planning process and try not to get too caught up in the stress in the months leading up to the big day! Try and stay present and not wish the time away until the wedding day as it’ll be over before you know it
